ABADES FOUNDATION

The Abades Foundation pursues “the promotion and defence of social welfare, culture in all its manifestations, and education and sport with special attention to children, either through its own programmes or in collaboration with other entities”, as stated in the foundational aims and activities of its statutes.

The Abades Foundation carries out its activities within the territorial scope of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, without prejudice to the establishment of relations with entities in other territories at a national or international level.

With operational offices in Granada and Seville, the Foundation’s headquarters are located in Loja.

The principles adopted by the Abades Foundation are based on the United Nations Global Compact.

These points speak of “Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within their sphere of influence. Businesses should make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining. Businesses should uphold the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor. Businesses should uphold the elimination of child labor. Businesses should uphold the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges. Businesses should encourage initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility. Businesses should encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.”

The promotion of sport and a healthy lifestyle leads to an improvement in social wellbeing, which is why the Abades Foundation promotes different sporting events and amateur clubs.

Collaboration with NGOs and non-profit associations.

The action of the Abades Foundation with Abades staff is based on three basic pillars: Personal and professional training and promotion programmes, promoting internal and external employability, convinced that only through training can we achieve greater integration and commitment of workers not only with the company but also with their environment, and that they are aimed at improving equal opportunities and making the most of diversity.
